Basic SEO tips for your Showit website
You’re ready to build your website, but what most people do not consider before he build is SEO! It is so so important! Don’t worry though, I got you! I have some Showit SEO Tips that will help you get it done right the first time! BTW I may talk all day and only build my websites on showit, these tips are good for everybody who has a website.. Same rules apply!
SEO is short for ‘Search Engine optimization,’ which is basically how Google will organically drive traffic to your website! Google recognizes the difference between a good and a not-so-good website, and it will always rank the better websites first. It takes into consideration so many things, including domain age, quality of the photos, clear branding, how it is optimized on desktop and mobile, and so much more! Everything from the way you upload the images and the wordsmithing is essential. It is also a long game, not a short game, so you will not immediately rank with a new website, so that is something you can keep in mind.
SEO keywords are the keywords and phrases in your web wordsmithing or Copywriting that make it possible for people to find your site via search engines. When you build your website, you will want to keep these things in mind as you name your pages and set up your Heading structure. See below for more info on the Header tips
Page Title – When naming your page, try to use those keywords.
This is something that can get overlooked but is uber important for SEO! You think about designing your website or putting together your showit template, you will want to sit down and brainstorm your target audience. This is important to know before using that to set up your SEO for the website, and it really goes hand and hand with your branding and tone. One of the first things you need to know is what people are looking for when it comes to your services and products to make it easy for potential clients to find your website.
On each page, Showit has a section on the right called ‘SEO settings .’ This is where you will want to put a photo that will pop on on messenger, text, and google, and you also have a Meta Description section. This is basically your first impression, and how this is set up can make the difference between someone clicking and opening your website or leaving and moving on! You will want to make sure you fill out this section for each page on your website. (Google shows only 65 characters in the title)
Your copy needs to be clear and tell your audience who you are, what you do, and why your audience should use your services or buy your product. Those ‘SEO’ Keywords in your content scattered ORGANICALLY through your website are another way to help you rank on SEO! You do not want to stuff your website with keywords because Google can tell when you do this, which may work against your SEO efforts.
<h1> headings should be used for main headings, followed by
<h2> headings, then the less important
<h3>, and so on. Showit automatically applies Text Tags based on the Font design settings you are using. You can read more about HTML Text Tags here.
This SEO Tip is Important and again often overlooked! When you upload your photos to the Showit platform, how you upload the photos matters! You want them to be the correct size, so they look amazing. If you are working with a photographer and working with high-quality photos, there are specific settings you will need to use for optimal aesthetics.
At the end of the day, Google will recognize the difference between a high-quality photo and not so high-quality photo. Basically, if the general public finds your website easy to read and aesthetically pleasing, you will most likely rank over time against your competition.
I hope you have found value in these Showit SEO Tips! It can be intimidating, but like I said it is a long game! It is also a always evolving game! Keep on building my friend, but if you get stuck then set up a free chat
